My previous post was on the small diesel that quit, we added fuel and bled the system. It was puffing white smoke out the air filter. Today I checked the exhaust elbow and it was not plugged. Checked the oil, no water in it, lifted the rocker cover off and - - - one inlet valve is sticking open and the other one had no clearance between the rocker and valve. I adjusted that one pried on the stuck one. The motor is running again but you can hear this valve sticking. Anyone know of a good way to unstickith a valve with out taking the head off ? BC Mike C

john is right.

I used MMO in a V8 that had one stuck valve after sitting a number of years. I used MMO and a penetrant - applying them alternately to the valve stem (I had the valve cover off) for several days and tapping gently on the valve. Left it sit for a week while I was gone and on the second day back the valve came free and with just a little clean up is still running ten years later.

mmo (marvel mystery oil) is known for unsticking valves. you just put about 2 table spoons of this oil in each cylandar, crank over the engine a few turns then let it sit 3 days. then try to start it. when it first starts it will smoke like crazy (white smoke) just let it run until all of the oil is burned off.
good luck john
