Happy Independence Day all. I bought a wiring harness on ebay and am a little confused. It seems that the coil wire is larger than the generator wire. Any one with experience in this, thanks in advance. I have a couple of schematics that are in line with each other, as well as all the parts mentioned. I am sticking with the 6vt system. Going on a "47" 2N. Rob

I thought they were the same size, the coil wire is red and also goes to the one side of the resistor below the back of the ammeter and the generator wire is black with heat insulation on for beside the manifold.

Genny wire should be a 10 guage wire. Big. Coil wire is only a few amps and genny can be like 5 times that much.
I think the coil can be 16. Don't put a small wire on the genny or to the ignition or regulator, you be asking for trouble because temps will go up, leading to connector problems, and parts won't last near so long.
That charging circuit and to a lessor extent the starter circuit needs BEEF that the ignition circuit does not require.
