Recently the board provided a means for hiding our e-mail address to prevent unwanted mail being sent to us, and I thank them for this. My question is:

1)-How do we respond to someone by e-mail when the address is hidden, and

2)-Why not simply leave the address space blank when posting?

Respectifylly....John A

John, entering their email addresses allows them to receive a notification via email if their post is responded to (if they clicked the little "Email Notification" box at the bottom of the screen when they entered it).

Their email address is also entered into an authorship log, so that if any problems or issues arrive - YT knows how to get ahold of them.

Some people simply prefer to leave it blank, and some prefer to make their email address public. Each individual can make their own choice.

I hope that explains it,
Kim

Thanks Kim, but - how do I send someone an e-mail if it is hidden?

John,
Maybe you could respond to their post directly in the forum (since they'll probably be checking back to look in on the discussion) and ask them directly for their email, or offer yours and ask that they contact you.

Thanks Kim,...one more question, do you have to read through ALL these crazy posts EVERY day? I don't think I envy your job.

Thanks again for keeping us straight and for your diligent work, this is a great board and I hope it stays that way.

Respectfully, John Anderson
