That's a funny one isn't it. Really brings meaning to the term 'interference fit'. I guess the engineers at the ford plant figured they would have fun with everybody watching them trying to install them... I figure we wouldn't have so many N's with water in the hyd sump/tranny/rear end, if ford wad an easier to install boot.. oh well...

On both the NAA and 8n I replaced the boots. I used a piece of heavy gauge wire rolled back on itself to make a smooth 'tong', as a 3rd finger.. etc.. and used the method that someone else mentioned.. roll the boot back over itself, etc. Had to hold your mouth just right.. but it went on.

A word of advice... clean the grove that the bottom of the boot rides in.. makes life easier.

Rob, I just put one on. In addition to the soap, I rolled the boot up over itself (kind of inside out) and then unrolled it at the bottom. Worked great. Pete--NY
