I'm interested in purchasing a FarMech parking brake for my 8N. These are being reproduced by Red Rock manufacturing. Does anyone have any experience with these and would your recommend. Having a good parking brake for these tractors sounds like a good idea.

I would be interested in seeing how these work. Does anyone have a picture?

Thanks for posting the website of the mfr. They would be a big improvement over the stock ratchet type brake holder.

The Red Rock Manufacturing Co. shows that there is still a market for "aftermarket" parts, the Zane Thang and Live Thang come to mind immediately, for the N Series Ford tractors.

It also shows that the original manufacturer of an item didn't always think of all the improvements that could be made, or they may have misread the market as to what the buyer would want on their equipment.

Hey.

I am also thinking about getting a set. My only thing is I would want to get them in primer, as my 2N is gray and i'd hate to strip all the red off and repaint it.

As for your question, the brake won't do much good if your brakes are already in poor condition. If they won't hold using the ratchet pawls on the side of the transmission, then you won't be any better off, see? After that, it's really just a minor convenience over the factory pawls.

Just my thoughts. I still kinda like 'em, though.

I think anything would be an improvement over the small original pawls. Are you interested in the single lever or the two levers(one on each side) version?

If i got 'em, i'd go with one on each side just for the sake of it looking cleaner.
