Anybody out there know where I can get a couple of foot rests for a 41 9N. I am in desperate need of them or at least a right side peg.

appreciate it.

Rob,
you CAN use footrests off a 8N with a little modification. I removed the red rear "L" shaped mount and made 2 new ones with the horizontal mounting holes moved out about 3/4 inch. This will give you clearance for the 9N clutch rod. You might need to remove a little of the inside "lip" on the footrest depending on how tight you run your clutch.

I've never tried them without the foot pegs, but I'd bet it would work. I just like to have something to hook by boot heel on.

8N boards are available on Ebay every now and then.

My nickels worth,

Scott

Got a pair from tOTG - real nice and a perfect fit. Uses the radius rod cap bolts up front so you don't have to have the pegs. I tack welded some 1/2" X 1/8" flats to the edges of the tread plate for additional support.

Rob,

tOTG is John Bowers (alias the Old Tractor Guy). He is in Littleton, CO. His Web Site might help.

Good Luck,
Danny

Rob..... ...fellow by name of Rod advertizes in the N-Newsletter that he sells primed 9N & 2N running boards made in USA. $50. 651-464-4628 (MN) fltractor@peoplepc.com. I hate re-inventing the wheel ...er... running board when the price seems reasonable..... ....Dell

Yep.. that's one of those buy and install things.. why make up a welding jig. etc.

i also noticed that there are now 2 fixes for NAA tool boxes.. you can either buy the whole running board, or just the box-repair insert. .. Think I also saw that in the N-newsletter..

Though I fixed mine with sheet mental.. I might have to pony up for a good looking copy like that..

Most of the aftermarket foot rests require the pegs.. so better take care of that too.

The smiths site has some from time to time.. though i didn't see any today. might try denniscarpenter, or even don barkley.

Also.. you might check the parts section here on this forumn.. but I don't think they carry the 9n/2n plates that most 'retrofit' for use.. etc.

Email me..
