Would the 1 and 3/8 female clutch work on my 1 and 1/8 if I put one of those sleeves that increases the size. Would that make too much play? If I buy a new one I will definitely get one the correct size. I just wanted to know if any of you guys have put one on using the sleeve and how it worked for you. The sleeve I mean is about 3 inches long and slides inside the housing.

Been there done that.Don't do it! When the adapter sleeve gives out(and it will) then you've got a 15 pound projectile in the end of a sipnning rocket launcher and the only thing keeping it from whacking the back of your head it the quick release button that just has'nt happened to get pushed yet. I always see the glass half empty.

Jonesy..... ...while you could use a 1-1/8 to 1-3/8 sleeve to adapt UPSIZE from your tractor PTO shaft to your brushhog U-Joint coupling.....DON'T DO IT!!!!....the adaptor sleeve AIN'T GOTT THE STRENGTH. Besides, you can get a real 1-1/8 to 1-3/8 ORC for $60 (cheap)..... ..respectfully, Dell the sefl-appointed ORC safety preacher

One other task that you will have to attend to with your ORC is cutting the roll pin (split pin) that fits through the holes in the ORC (sometimes have to remove grease nipples). The pin has to allow the inner and outer sleeves of the clutch to move independantly of each other and so, has to be a specific length. When driving the pin home you also have to be careful not to go in too far. I ended up making up a special punch on my lathe to drive the pin in. Good luck and be safe, Erik
