I ordered a ORC from E-Bay and they sent me the wrong one. (1 3/8) I ordered the correct one. My friends tell me to just keep it and buy the new 1 3/8 shaft that will go in my 2-N. Are they hard to put in? Also I see they have one for $105 and another for about $78? Which one do I need and is that the best way to go?

Thank you all for the information. I have no 1 1/8 equipment, its all 1/3/8. I have decided with your help to buy the 1 3/8 shaft complete ready to bolt in, then I don't need any of those darned adapters . Now lets see, I have my new Zane Thang, my new starter drive, new voltage regulator, hope to get my new pto shaft, and have my new ORC. Now I just need a NEW paint job and some new tires. Tonight we're supposed to get some Freezing rain in North Missouri. I can't push that with my new blade. Again Thanks.

Do the majority of your pto driven implements have 1&3/8 or 1&1/8 shafts? If you are already using an adaptor to make the tractor shaft 1&3/8 you're better off upgrading the tractor shaft to 1&3/8. One less adaptor, less pto slop and maybe the orc will fit in without having to shorten any implement shafts. With an adaptor plus an orc between tractor and implement your implement shafts will likely be too long. If your implements have 1&1/8 shafts there is not much sense putting the bigger shaft in.

The price difference is one shaft has the bearing and flange, and the other one is just a shaft. You want the one that is more money that includes the bearing and flange all ready to put in.

Jonesy..... ...while it might seem like an unnecessary expense, I'd suggest you consider the merits of the modern 1 3/8 PTO shaft upgrade. New bearings and seals. (fits all 39-52) Its a 15-minute 4-bolt job if'n ya parks yer tractor frontend innna deep ditch so you don't haffta drain 5 gals of hydro-oil.

Or.....you could send your incorrect PTO Over Running Coupler back and complain, and insist that they send you the correct 1 1/8F input X 1 3/8M output ORC. Your call, but I know what I'd do..... ...Dell, the self-appointed ORC Safety Preacher
