Drawbar question

When I bought my 8N a year and a half ago, it came without the drawbar. I am wondering how to attach the center "bar" to the underneath of the tractor. There looks to be a place, like a reciever, where the center bar goes in, but I can't figure out how to get a pin in there to hold it in place.

I went to TSC to try and figure out what I need, and the guy there said he knew nothing about "N" series tractors, and about all he could tell me is what he found in the book. My question is this: Does the N series have a special pin that goes in that slot underneath the tractor, or can I use a screw clevis? Thanks for any suggestions. I need a drawbar soon!---Rob

Go back to TSC and tell him you want an aftermarket swinging drawbar for 8N about $89 for kit. includes fixture for under rear housing plate to bolt where PTO comes out and drawbar with pin you need 4 bolts to bolt fixture to rear housing very simple to do and very handy. Or you can use a cat 1 drawbar with the 3 PT arms

This is the drawbar pin that would be used in the set up for the swinging drawbar. You insert it into the receiver through the drawbar and twist to lock in the "ears".

I don't have the part number, but I think I've seen dimensions for making your own somewhere in the archives.

Man-o-man-o-manochevitz. WOW. Can't believe my eyes..... ..... ..What a restoration. The paint job is beautiful as is the completeness of the work..... .yeah and I'll bet is was a fence warmer with half the tin missing or dented/rusted too....and looked like the aftermath of a train wreck with a frozen engine.

Well done.

(Tucker tires?)

I really don't know who owns it.. but Don Barkley comes to mind.

Whoever it was did a jam up job.
