Does your door not have the little filter element and wire mesh job behind it? It is still available. How about roofing tin, and cut the louvers in it, and bevel them up like the original. A cold chissle and an anvil will work fine to cut the louveres out of the thin gauge metal.. Tin snips will help form the door.. and then you can use your rubber mallet or ball peen hammer to roll the edges of the metal on the door.. just find a suitable flat surface with a 1/8 roud roll to it, and use it as a form.. and just tap-tap-tap.. take your time and you will have a halfway decent looking project. If you have a drill.. or drill press I guess you could also just make 1/4 inch oles in a pattern all over the door instead of cutting louvers. If you have a cnc setup.. or a universal cutting bit onthe drill press you can machine out open louveres in the metal.. or in a piece of masenite.. or 3/16 / 14 plywood.. etc... Lastly.. there is perferated metal available at many metal shops. It is a thin sheet.. like 1/16 and has lotsa holes in it the size of the head of a pin... even rows and columns... Would make a great door / breather mesh with no other fussing. I used that to line the front of an angle iron bumper/rediator deflector for my NH 1920. Good luck. Soundguy
