Smith's 8N page has a chart provided by Ed Gooding. It shows the compression ratio for 8N's to S# 84999 is 6:1 and S# 85000 on as 6.2:1. Is that when they went with an aluminum piston?

Rob-

The change in compression has to do with the change from head studs to head bolts which can be torqued down more. Pistons did not change.
