I got the new brakes on left wheel of my 48 8N. (thanks for the help, guys).
Now, with wheel on, and brake adjuster screwed all the way down ( I assume minimum height on the adjuster means minimum brake shoe diameter) the wheel is very very difficult to turn by hand. It will turn, but with significantly more than a slight drag. Is there a way to free this up? I considered dropping it off the jacks and driving, but didnt want to make a very tight left hand turn into the side of the barn.
thanks

thanks Rob. Couldnt log on last night to read your reply. Anyway, what i was saying was that i adjusted the brake thing to minimum height and the wheel is tough to turn, but I can't back off on the adjuster because it is at min (that is screwed all the way down). So I guess I will try to drive it around a bit and see what happens...

I'm still guessing you did adjust the brake on hard and then back it off, it needs to be done just that way.
Good luck.

Try one thing before you worry too much. Drive it around for several hundred feet or hundred yards or what ever you think and then feel of the drum. If it's a problem tight the drum will be hot. No hot drum then you're good to go.
