 Question? in reply to ( Pic's ) Ken N Tx, 09-16-2004 13:33:04
Why pull the LEFT trumphet to fix the RIGHT pin??

Something in the way if you don't do that?

The diffy chunk only comes out the left side... you pull the left trumpet to fix the left pin.. and then you pull the chunk to fix the right pin, if needed.

At this point do you just re-torque or are there other steps? Thanks for the pics! Dave

DM,
The 9N/2N uses a straight pin. If it is caught in time, yes, just retorque. BUT..... if it is loose too long, it will wallow out the hole and torquing the nut won"t tighten it up. Then it"s time for a JB Weld repair on the hole.
8N has a tapered pin, so unless there is an oval hole, just retorque.

Just don't forget to check the wear on the pin that is OUTSIDE the housing where your lower lift arm goes on. don

Thanks Russ,
Good to know. I could see going thru the teardown and reinstall only to have it still leak!

I cannot take credit for these pic's..I have them on CD and they have been copied from earlier posters over the years..

Also when surfing other sites, i copy to CD any interesting pic's that can be used in the future. Like parts and procedures..

Wow! Thanks Ken. That will be a huge help. Having done this yourself, how difficult would you rate the job?
