Can't drain fluid in tires

I am attempting to drain the fluid in my rear tires. One side will drain fine. The other side won"t drain. If I push the pin in, no air or water escapes.
I thought I heard once that on these tubed tires you pull the pin out. Is that true, and if so why can I drain the other side without removing the pin?
Any ideas on getting the liquid out of what is obviously a corroded filler tube?

You can pull the pin (valve core) out of any tire. in reply to Brian-2N, 10-02-2004 14:29:07
Lot of valve caps have a slotted do-hickey on the top that when inserted in the "valve stem" and rotated lefty-loosy removes the "valve core." Some valve caps are just domed on top.
A liquid filled tire will probably always have a two-piece "valve stem." You can take your pliers and remove the end piece. Removing that end piece, which includes the "valve core," facilitates inserting or removing fluid. I would jack up the wheel so it rotates, put the "valve stem" at 12-o"clock, remove the end piece of the "valve stem," and rotate the wheel to drain at a rate as I see fit. If there"s crud up in the tire that blocks the hole then you might have to poke a wire up in there once in awhile to clear such a block.

Brian..... ...ya live in the country and have a well? How does that well put water into the house? Pressure tank! Right? And how does that pressure tank work? Air pressure is captured in the water tank and when you open the water valve in the house what makes the water come squirting out the faucet?

Now just transfer that that information to your tractor tire with liquid in it. Force some airpressure into the wet tire and with the valve stem at the bottom of the tire, let the airpressure squirt the tire fluid out the valvestem..... ...Dell

Get a valve core puller and screw the valve core out. See if you can find plastic tubing small enough to slip inside the valve stem and push it in almost to the bottom of the tire.

jack that side of the tractor up and air up the tire after getting the valve core out then push in the plastic tubing. Messy job. Catch what you can in buckets.

If you can rotate the wheel, then position valve core at the top when airing up then rotate down to the bottom.
