Carbon fouls spark plugs, which makes the engine miss and wastes fuel. Valve seats are held open and pitted when held open by carbon particles. Carbon formation cannot be entirely eliminated but is minimized by high quality fuel and valve tune-ups.

This is an excerpt from the "article spotlight" on the main page. I was wondering what they meant by "VALVE TUNE-UPS" ? Thanks in advance!---Rob

Not only that...but...couple times a year there are changes in OCTANE (8 sides to the molecule) because of additives for winters and summers. Therefore, even though the fuel selector is set for the PROPER octane, there still can be PINGING because of..."piston- slapping"....

Hope this helps...John,PA
