Just when I got the lift working great something else had to happen. I was doing a little grading in the pasture and the lift was working fine. I parked the tractor for an hour or so and the lift drifted down. Ok, no problem there. Got back on the tractor to do some more work and the lift won't lower! I have the Zane Thang on and it has been working great.

I recently replaced the pressure relief valve and that got the lift to the point where it would lift my scraper blade (finally).

I did some searching of the archives with no real success. Most posts seem to reference the 8n and I'm not sure if there are any differences in this area.

So, what do I do now?!

Thanks

Brad

Brad, your control valve is sticking, or the control forks to the control valve has came off. Take the round cover by your right foot off. With the lift up , push the rod that goes from the top cover to the control valve that is under the oil to the back of the tractor, makeing sure all life is away from the lifted equipment because it will come down very fast, the first time I did this I thought I had broken the thing. If this does not work, the control forks can be put back on the control valve that is under the oil, through the two round plate holes, one on each side.the control valve is "T" shaped and the forks can be spread enough to get it back on the control valve. others will help with more experience than I have. hope this helps.

I had the forks come off the control valve on my 2N. This happened twice I had to drain the trans oil and remove both side plates to get it back on the T. I had the mower up and was running in some rough ground thought the bounceing done it. The first time it wouldn't go down the second it wouldn't go up. I read a coulple of days ago someone got their's back on with the oil in it. You could try that but you can't see it.

I'm hoping my problem is no worse than yours was. I had been using the lift a LOT while I was grading the ground. Its possible I pushed or pulled to hard on the lever at times. I'll check it out later this week when I have some time.

Thanks!

Brad
