I read down below that hydraulic lock can "bend things" in your engine. I understand the concept, but does the N sarter have enough UUMPH to bend the rods? I hydraulic locked my little snapper a few months ago, and the little starter just hit the ring gear and stopped. I knew immediatly what I had done, and pulled the spark plug. Just curious, thanks for any input!--Rob

Just dont tow it down the road and pop the clutch, I saw a neighbor do this once, negitive results, trashed the engine on his old tractor .

Actually, the bending phenomena occurs when the other cylinders fire, which causes the locked piston to attempt to compress a fluid, which is impossible. Used to be a huge problem on radial aircraft engines. That's why they pull 'em thru before trying to start them. Running boat-engines that get suddenly submerged also suffer from hydraulic lock, with catastrophic results! ;-( I don't think the Ford Starter would bend anything.
