AFAIK, the dealer option wire harness was 14 gauge, and went to the lights, and then the lights used the sheet metal as ground. Me? I'd wire a seperate ground wire to the mounting bolt the lights use.. as I wouldn't trust 50 year old rusty sheet metal contacts to make a good ground. Run the ground wire to an appropriate good ground ( block, etc.. )

35 watts is what most lights are that I know of. 35/6 =5.83 x 2 lights = 11.6 amps. 14 is good for 15 amps (ampacity...har har har) without even thinking about what type of insulation and routing.

Funny, I'm rewiring a MF 35 as we speak.....using 14 AWG. Doin as SouNdguy says also. Running ground back to the easiest spot to find which is the clamp on the - batt terminal (MF 35 has - gnd).

I am having a bit of an interference problem with the radiator and tilt up hood (MF hoods tilt up.....nice huh!). I want to run the wires along the fuel tank rather than across the bottom where the axles are which is where there would be no interference problem but it would look horrible and probably get snagged on something.

Hey TXBLU,

I noticed you said you were working on a massey 35. I posted a few weeks ago about looking for a hood for a 1959 to35, and all the leads I was given came up dead ends. I was wondering if you could help me find a good grille and doglegs for a '59 to35. I know this is OT but I was hoping you might be able to help me. Thanks a lot for your time!----Rob

The flasher is a good idea. My 2n, 8n and NAA all have a flasher inline with the rear lamp, with a small switch across the flasher incase i want a solid rear lamp.

TXBL: You might add in some spagetti style wire harness looming to protect those wires running near the gas tank.
