Thanks for all the advise given here. I was in the pick up today and the oil pressure was up to about 45. As I had said a couple days ago, the pressure was about 20-25, but today it is OK. Can we really trust the gauges? Now, I will trade out the oil a couple times, (I looked at the dip stick and it was black) use about 30wt and see how it goes. Thanks again.

Bill, 20 to 25 pounds of oil pressure on a tired motor isn't bad. I got an old 400 out of a pick-up that's been around the world a dozen times in a stock car. This motor doesn't smoke, has 40 pounds cold warms up and drops to 20 pounds gets hot and drops to 0. 18 nights of racing and it still runs. When I say hot I mean 220-250 degrees. I had a guy tell me it was oil breack down, and he said if I wanted better oil pressure hot, to run deisel oil 15w/40 or so. I'm still running 10/40 and it still drops to 0. I reckon it will til it blows. john
