I was browsing the TSC tractor parts area today when I came across something that caught my eye. TSC sells a complete electrical tune up kit that includes plugs, points, cap, rotor, and condenser. If I remember correctly, it sells for around 35 bucks. I was wondering if you guys have any expierence with this kit, and if it's a good deal both for the price and the quality. Also, it looks like the kit includes Autolite 216 plugs. I have read that the 437's are the plug of choice for an 8N. What's the difference? Also, and just for reference, they do sell a universal copper core spark plug wire kit. I forget how much the are asking for it. Thanks for your input, and taking the time to read this post!---Rob

I had good luck with everything but the rotor. It wouldn't fit properly until I scraped out the inside tolerance.

I have bought several parts from TSC and the only problem I had was the distributor cap had one contact that I had to grind down with a dremal. It had a manufacturing defect that caused one firing point to interfere with the rotor. I suspect it was probably made in china...like Wal-Mart, otherwise...no problems.

If you have a front mounted distributor check to see which points are in the kit. If the points are TISCO, which I think they are, don't buy it if it is #APN12000ABSR. It is junk. If the points are TISCO #ATK6FFR they should be OK. I don't have any simular information for a side mount.
