I get water in the air cleaner oil bath. Must be rain running down around the pipe through the hood because if it"s left out in just a little rain the oil bath will be overfilled by the added water. Pretty messy. What are you doing to keep rain from running down around the pipe?

If you get water in the aircleaner start looking for missing or broken parts, something is very wrong there, even a high pressure washer will not put water in there if everything is all there and not broken

Rob,The 1st. N I "restored" was a 44 with the stack through the hood. It's been a while back so I'll ask a question or two. Do you have the "dom" top on the cleaner pipe? Is there a gasket on the bottom oil bath? Where the air stack attaches to the air cleaner is it snugg with a gasket? Any of these could allow water to enter the cleaner.Even the little dom if not fully pushed down on the stack could allow water to "creep" in.Last thing,,you don't have a friendly neighbor playing a trick on you would you? Had a friend that bought a VW bug and he got 200mi. gal. on the first tank of fuel.No I didn't do it. Check !

I've got a 2N with the above hood half round breather ball and I can't say that I've ever had any problem with rain whatsoever.....but I suppose you could carry a five gallon bucket (or three gallon coffee can) with you and just put it over the breather stack whenever not in use much like the old vertical exhaust pipe people have to do to keep rain out of the exhaust system.

The bucket might be the way to go.

You park your 2N under a roof?
