Some 620"s have a Ford flathead. Anyone know if that"s the same engine as the N?

The 500 could be Ford powered.

What"s the skinny?

Rob..... ..while Ford made other 4-cylinder flathead engines, Model "T" and Model "A", and English Ford and French Ford and Australian Ford; I doubt that enny of them would be likely canidates for stationary engine operation like the N-Engine. Which was specifically sold for stationary engine operation like oil-well pumps, irrigation pumps, RR refridgeration cars, Pulman RR cars, Millitary radar power GenSets; and amazingly enuff, corn pickers, cotton pickers and haybailers..... ...respectfully, Dell

I am looking to work for a hay company in california. I have experience driving tractors, and PTO's, but not specificly with hay bailers and swathers. Is there information on the basic operation of this type of equipment? So that I can have a "heads up" when I start. there's lots of work in hay and I need some education on the equipment.
thank you for your time.

I figured all that, plus the Hesston is built down state from me here in Kansas so those furrin flatheads aren"t likely used. I know the starter bendix is described to be like the OEM N drive but I suppose the earlier Ford engines had them also.
I might deal for the swather if it"s got a better engine I can swap out with a tired "44 N.
They put all kinds of engines in those swathers; Fords, Wisconsins, V-4"s...who knows what.
