Who knows what and how to get some good and plenty hours out of these pumps?
I’d like to get more life out of my pump. I keep 9-acres using this pump so it hasn’t seen so many hours these 4 or 5 years; no way it has 100 hours and probably half that. Now, I’ve tried to neutralize the tank and pump after use, at least after the season, but I did not fill the pump with oil when not in use like the mfr says now that I pay better attention I see that.
Anyway, this pump was slow to pick up after only a few uses and now it just about won’t. I will have to spring for a kit but it seems I should have gotten more hours before the rebuild. Looking at the chamber and rollers it seems they are more scored and scratched than worn over- or under-size. I think I am missing something here.
I probably have that 50M (pretty dang fine) mesh strainer. I say that just because it cost less then the 80M; maybe I was penny wise, pound foolish. I spray 2,4D and Roundup.

i have the same type of pump on my planter. each year after planting is over i wash it out good and rinse it with diesel and then plug the ends and fill it with diesel. i plant 1000 acres a year and the pump probably has 10 years on it. and i expect to get at least 10 more years. the last one i had i got 20 years doing the same stuff to it.

It"s the oil alright. I squirted ND 30 in the inlet few weeks ago I last used it and again before I fired it up today and it picked right up.

I have lost some pressure capacity but I got it done today and the low pressure might be the regulator. 60 to 80 psi was just enough for my job.

I"ll do better keeping it oiled now I know. Thanks.
