Just picked up a set of stabalizer brackets from TSC. Which position does the vertical part of the "L" belong, inboard of the mounting bolts or outboard.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Be sure to put the hitch pin in the hole that will allow it to align exactly with the lift arm pin across from it. If you put the pin in the wrong hole and it is not aligned correctly either you won't be able to connect the stabilizer arms on both sides and or if you do it will either bend the stabilizer bars or try to stretch them.

The geometry must be the same for the stabilizer bars and the lift arms as they go up and down.

Here"s a pic out of Parts and Pieces. You get the black hard-to-snap linch pins for those bracket link pins and not the weak cad plated imported linch pins. Reason is a stick or weed stalk can reach up and unsnap and jerk out the weak pins and then the stab bar comes loose and ends up bent and twisted back into the bush hog. Pretty exciting when that happens.

I have never seen anything other than cad plated linch (Lynch?) pins...so where do you get the pins you reference?

TSC has both types right there in the same bunch of bins. The blacks ones are still less than a dollar each and they snap hard. Hurt your finger tips to get "em off. No way they come off by accident.
