I was almost done with my manifold and exhaust pipe replacement when i ran into a small problem. I realized that the nuts that hold the carb to the manifold are brass too. They stripped when I tried to remove them. Then I cussed. Can you fine folks tell me what size I need to get tomorrow, hopefully from Lowes. Thank you all very much for your help. And by the way, whoever suggested welding a nut on to the manifold stud to have a means of which to turn it out A BIG THANK YOU!! Worked like a charm, also gave me an excuse to use my welder. Thanks again ----ROB

Last ones I did where 5/16 fine tread. But you never know some one may have changed something on you. I have never seen brass nuts on a carb.

If orginal, 5/16 SAE fine. But I do not recall brass nuts to hold carb to manifold. Might be USS course. Get two of each, huh.
