WELL, I finally got the new manifold and exhaust pipe on. While I had it off I replaced the valve covor gaskets. I had a bit of an issue with the carb nuts. Some joker put brass nuts on there that stripped off when I took the carb off the old manifold. I picked up some new nuts and voila! Now I started her up and she runs like crap! Also, the oil leak seemed to really be comming from the oil line tee. Have any of you ever had this problem? It looks like the oil is comming from where it screws into the case, like maybe it is stripped out or not tight enough. If I can't get another turn out of it, what should I do? is there a puckey that I can put on it?

As far as it running poorly is concerned, I am sure the carb is full of crud and out of adjustment. I am assuming this thing was sucking air for a while and someone adjusted it accordingly. When I turned on the gas, the carb filled up and started pouring out the throat. I guess it's needle valve time. Thank you all for any suggestions you might have.---Rob

Just had the same problem on my early 8N. Very difficult to tell if the leak is from the block threads or the flare fittings.

Be careful w/ the flare fittings, I fooled around & stripped one out.

Rob..... ..as fer yer brass block oilline "T", I'd teflone tape the end that screws into the block for a tighter fitt rather than trying to screw the "T" a full turn tighter to line-up the rest of the hardware tubing. Definately inspect the "T" for cracks. Also all the other fittings too..... ....Dell
