I went to town on the 8n today. I put a kit in the carb, and cleaned out all the sludge. It was the first time overhauling the carb on the 8N, and I found it was remarkably simple. I replaced the points, plugs, cap, and rotor and set the carb per the fo-4 manual and this site. I found out that my govonor was really not the culprit, it was the carb linkage binding up. Now I can get to idle down really slow, and come up to full speed without a hiccup. Not to mention, it sounds and runs better than it ever has before. It's also, actually quiet thanks to the new exhaust. Now if I can just get the fan to stop beating on the shroud. Thanks very much for all your help!! Couldn't have done it without you!!---Rob
