I finally got tired of the 170,000 coats of brushed on paint on my 8n hood and started stripping it today. I used a chemical stripper and an orbital sander with pretty good results. In 3 hours time I had 75% of the hood down to bare metal. Looks like somebody has used the front end for a battering ram at some point. There was lots of bondo over top of a lead dent repair. What's funny is the next to last coat was RED! I wonder, did Ford use a red primer, or that just what some farmer had laying around? I am going to get dental surgery tomorrow (I'd rather get shot) but I'll try to get some pictures on the progress. Should be interesting.----Rob

What type of Dental Surgery? Whatever your Doctor gives you for an anesthetic ask for an injection of Marcaine before you leave. It lasts several hours longer and really helps with any post op pain. Just my 2 cents.
