Replace those bearings and you won"t need that 50 weight oil.

Bearing inserts....cheap

Rob..... ...what part of "I use 20-50wt oil in all my vehicles" don't you understand? It simplifies my buying.

1952 Ford 8N with 2100 hrs and 30 psi (hot)
1969 BMW 2002 with 385k miles
1972 BMW Baveria with 190k miles
1981 Volkswagon Diesel pickup with 190k miles
1982 Volkswagon Diesel pickup with 180k miles
1995 Dodge Cummins Diesel pickup with 177k miles

I change oil and filter religiously every 4000 miles..... ...respectfully, Dell

That"s the same reason I use this or that oil lot of times. Pretty much.

It"s what I got or it"s what is available.

Snowstorm predicted for last night, I was at TSC anyway, so I grabbed some 10W-30 so to get my oil changed and the blade mounted before it hit.

Been sitting since August, early- or mid-August. 35* and didn"t start first time. Or second time. Or third time, but the 6v 51 did start the 4th time. Started and stayed running, no problem.

So life is good.

That"s another way off-base post, right there.

But that happens.

Pay attention...it gets tricky.
