Well after much research and opinions from you all, which I really appreciate by the way, I agree I have a 2N. From your practical experience are there any quirks or disadvantages I should know about. I plan on using for some light blade work and some mowing. Lets here it all, pro's and cons.

Thanks

You'll never need red paint.

That's a nice looking tractor. For what you plan to use it for, the only real difference I think worthy of mention between a 2/9N & an 8N is the lack of position control on the lift. That means the implement on the 2N is either up or down.....no stopping the blade 2 inches off the ground. You can remedy that w/ limiter chains or a 'Zane Thang' marketed by a frequent visitor to this board, Zane.

Thanks, My uncle always complained about not being able to maintain the blade hieght so he bought what he called a rooster comb and installed it in place of the center link. It has a triangular hoop with limiter chains. I think the tractor is all in one piece and it runs good just needs some TLC. After I get the hydraulics working I plan on tearing it apart and restoring it. Not that it's worth much, but it has sentimental value. Guess it will be grey next time I post photo's.
