Hey John in PA
I have never draged a landing feild, let alone one in PA.I guess it would be a good position control on just about any thing. In my limted experice I have only seen them used on mowers. They are common here in east Texas.I was raised using one on a 9n.liked it so much,so handy I still use one.Quick repetable hight control.
Did not mean to contradict you john in P.A.

It is just that, once and awhile one can actually beat the system. You know....throw it away and buy another one type system.

Well, so many times in my youth, even my dad didn't know what to call some things he had hand made. He would just say watch me and then you do it.

We always left it up to the engineers to lay a name on things.

Have a good time.

Actually I think the one we had was fashioned from one of the fireplace kettle hooks that used to hang in the smokehouse. You know one of dem. We had so many and he figgered that his mother wouldn't miss one. John,PA

They are used as a top link on bushhogs.Chains go down to the lift arm pins, you control the hight of the mower.Lift it up and move the v bar to raise or lower the hight of the cut.Work good on a 9n.I use mine on my 8n.

So, that what that impliment was on the back of my 9N when I was told to go out and "drag" the landing field. Have a good day, Sir.

I just beat the system. Replaced the bearing in the old girl's generator. Now I can finish plow'n garden. :0)

When I was a youngster, we had one of those on a implement that we used to "drag" the fields. I presume the proper word is "lift arm limiter". Some fellas started using a simple chain to limit how far the lift arms would go DOWN.
Hope this helps.
