I am not familiar with how to properly attach safety wire to the flat head nuts that hold the cover on my oil pump.

Where can I buy safety wire (if that's what it's called in the store) and how is it properly attached?

rob first you have to drill a hole in each bolt then go to the hard ware store and buy sum wire then cut a piece of and put it threw the bolt at about center point then bend the wire in half take your pliers and twist it until you are close to the other bolt then thread the wire threw the other bolt then twist the end agene leave a 1/4 inch or sow then cut off the rest then bend the tab over sow you don’t cut your self this is the easiest way there is slightly better ways but with out showing you it would be hard for me to explain and I’m assuming you have two bolts good luck rod

The nuts are already drilled. They had safety wire in them already.

Stainless steel welding wire will work its available in rolls with .025 diameter.kinda expensive though. Most motorcycle shops carry small saftey wire kits.

I have plenty of flux-core .35 wire. Will that work?

If there is an airport near you, stop at any shop
on the airfield and ask. They will know where you
can pick up a spool of safety wire. Most aviation
supply places carry it, as is standard fare on
aircraft.
