Awadi, count down 14 posts from this one and ye will find it well explained in a post yesterday. Not being crabby, trying to be helpful, only.

Thanks guys, I jumpted the gun, was outside wiping off grease and just didn't take the time to research the forum, I have found the answer and thanks for the help, will try and find it tomorrow in the light. From the looks of my project I will proably be asking a lot of questions, will appreciate your help. I used a 8n back in the 50s as a kid, and have always wanted one, so this is a treat for me.

Awad-----"Hope this helps , ignore the crabby people and ask all the questions you need to , we will be glad to help."---I second that---FYI--there is a LOT of good info in the archives on this site, although I personally do find it a bit difficult to navigate through it all---if you can't find an answer in the archives, don't be afraid to come back and ask here---Best of Luck with your N--Tim

There are better ways to search the archives here than you might realize.

Go you Google and type in your search like this:

9N "lift pin" site:ytmag.com

That way Google will search them for you.

The 9N means I am looking for that word, the "lift pin" in quotes means that I want to find that phrase, and the site:ytmag.com, means I only want to search for that on this site.

Happy Googleing...

"Maybe we should post this on top of the page , it gets asked once or twice a day". but you still didnt answer the question .

I can see you new to this (just like we all were at one time) Like the other "answer" its on the engine block between the starter and the oil fitler canister. Its on a flat pad just below the head . It will have a star or diamond followed by "8n" and followed by the sequence number ( example *8n12345* )

Hope this helps , ignore the crabby people and ask all the questions you need to , we will be glad to help.

Hey, Jimmy, hope ye wasn't calling me crabby, all I was doing was taking his hand and pointing him to the Archives where the question has been answered as good as can be explained, I think twice yesterday. I thought those posts did a very good job explaining and it will helk him learn to navigate on this board. Not at all crappy, by intent, anyway.

No ross , I didnt mean you were being crabby. I really should have not said anything . I probably misinterpreted Ken S's remark as being 100% crabby.

""but you still didn't answer the question""

Ha Jimmy, Bruce had already answered his question. I didn't see any need in answering it again. Did you not read that far, think it needed repeating?

Maybe the answer to this question should be posted permanently at the top of the forum. Seems to get asked once or twice a day.

Left side of the engine, just below the head on the block & behind the oil filter canister; it's a flat spot about 4.5x1 inch. Check here for more ID info:

Found it, Had to use paint remover, wire brush and magnifying glass but it is in back of the oil filter on a smooth plate. It is a 47 8n, 8n370 is the no.

Thanks for the help.....
