I've got a manual for my 8N, but can't find anything about removal of the fan/generator pulley. Had a front end loader pump drive on it that I've removed, but can't get a good feel for whether there is a nut holding the pull onto the crank shaft or what. If there's a nut, does anyone know the size? Do you have to jack the engine up to get access to it? Any help would be appreciated

"bout all the crank pulleys I have seen that used a front mount loader pump used a slotted head bolt that you will not see less you move the front axle support....

The replacement bolt is a modified 5/8 hex head bolt Dell is talk'n a bout, if it has a hex head bolt you should see it...

Their was a odd ball set up back about 6 mo ago that someone ran into but i don't remember what it was.

Rob..... ..would you believe a LONG extension thru the front grill hand-crank'em hole? (thats the same hole that yer hydraulic pump driveshaft went thru. The pulley was originally held on with a 1-5/16in "crown-head" bolt. It hassta be removed to allow space for the hydraulic driveshaft coupler. The pulley is then held on with 5/8-18 (NF) bolt. Head is usually 15/16 hex. Put the short socket on the bolthead and then stick the extension thru the radiator hole. Simple, eh?

Tip: to keep the crankshaft from turning full circles, stuff some soft 1/4" rope down enny sparkie hole and then you can honk away. Torque for 5/8" bolt is 150ft/lbs. 100ft/lbs for crown-head bolt (which you don't have, and are NLA) ..... ..Dell

Thanks, Dell, I will try that. Do you by chance know if the replacement pulley/shaft/pump connector parts I've seen on this site for a Wagner loader are interchangeable with a Skyline Corp, which is what I've got on there. The parts look the same..... .... Thanks for the info. rob

Rob..... ...no, I don't know.

I do know front crankshaft hydraulic pump drive systems come in 2-different styles/sizes. The stinger driveshaft can be either a slide-in 6-groove? type with matching pulley adapter ...or... Left Hand Thread (CCW) screw-in stinger with matching pulley adapter. Some of the pulley bridges are rubber bushing mounted. Different bridges take different pulleys, but I don't remember which is what.

Hobo is the most likely person to know whether yer Skyline FEL is interchangeable with Wagner FEL. He has a "neat" photo layout explaining the difference. You'll haffta special post message direct to him in "subject" line. What kind of "coupling" scheme did yer Skyline have??? or can you tell?..... ...Dell

The Pulley is similar to the rubber bushing type, less the rubber bushings. Looks like the hub pins just slid into the holes on the pulley. Hub is threaded onto the pump shaft, to mor flex coupling to pump. The pump is an odd brand, don't remember, but not skyline or wagner. Hobo did send me a picture, looks pretty much just like it. If I can just get the pulley off. I'll let you guys know & I really appreciate the help.
