Hi guys, I have my tractor in my paint room (emptyed out tent garage) and I am all ready to prime and paint. I want to have a full day as this is my first time but the weather isn't cooperating very much. Weather report says low 50's and rain for the next two days which are also my days off. I may not get anouther chance for a week or more and in the meantime everything that was in the garage has been out on the grass for a week! My question is, should I wait for better weather or will it make any difference. I'm not worried if it will only slow the drying time but I don't want to ruin all the work I've done so far. I'm using JD clasic green with NAPA 6040 reducer and 8010 hardener. I must say I have developed a lot of respect and appreciation for a nice looking restoration. This has been quite a learnig experiance for me and could not have gotten this far without this board. Thanks in advance.

I see you posted a couple of days ago.. Did you get your paint on or did you decide to wait?

It's a tossup if you have bare metal whether to go ahead on days like that. It would be nice if you could heat the garage up somehow to paint. Myself I'd be inclined to wait for a nice sunny and warm day and paint then once I have all the rust removed again.

I primed on monday (48 degrees and rain) with good results. I then called a pro painter friend and he gave about the same advice that I got on the JD board but said if it should warm up some to go ahead and shoot it. The weather man was wrong and it was 65 and no rain. I left a couple of halogin lights on in the "garage" for about 4 hours and then painted. Turned out great.
