I am interested in possibly buying a supplied air rig. I looked on EBAY some time back and found entry-level setups around $350+. I looked tonight and could not find them. I need some brand names to search. Also what do I look for in a hobby/amateur setup?

Thanks,

Charles

Hi Charles;

There are two that I know of, Breath Cool II and Hobby Air that are designed for the hobbiest. I have the Breath Cool System that works well. There are different masks or hoods that you can purchase. If you wear glasses the full face mask is a little uncomfortable. The system provides cool clean air with the volume adjustable. The lens uses a self sticking clear lens cover that protects the face piece from over spray. When the lens cover gets dirty you just peel and put a new one on. If you do any sand blasting consider the hood or helmet type. Turbine Products who produce the Breath Cool system stand behind their product. A strap on my mask failed and they sent me another full mask of better quality. Check the link below for Breath Cool and query the web for "Hobby Air". Hope this helps.

Thanks dude. I am going to check on EBAY and see what they are running now. It has been over a year since I priced one.

I have a Hobby Air and hood -- it works fine. Don't know the difference in it and Breath Cool. Hobby Air does get hot after a time -- should only affect you if you are sandblasting. Painting doesn't take that long.
