JD Primer Sealer, Self Etching Primer

I am going to paint my John Deere 530 with JD paint. The only primer I can find available is primer is JD Buff Primer sealer. Remembering a few years back to auto body school, I was thought it dint have the best adhesion or scratch filling abilities, although I believe it has some if its a primer sealer. Sealer provides a uniform surface for the topcoat. Does John Deere offer a self etching primer for bare cast Iron and bare sheet metal. I was also thinking of a high build primer for the sheet metal. If Deere don't offer these types of primers, what brand of primers should I look into for paint capability?
Thank you for your time,

I've found that the best thing to do is leave that JD stuff on the shelf. You can buy PPG omni or NAPA crossfire for a little more and get much better quality. I use the omni epoxy primer. There are others who have way more experience than me here.

I wouldn't use self etching primer on cast, as it is pourous and using it may or may not lift the paint later. Self etch is mainly for body shops that don't want to sand new metal. There is no other advantage. What you want as the first and only primer on cast is a 2 part epoxy primer. PPG Omni MP 170 is one, there are others. On the sheet metal use the MP 170, followed by MP 182 urethane surfacer. It is a sandable surfacer that leaves a smooth finish. It is not necessary or desired on cast. MP 182 requires a supplied air system for breathing because of the isocyanates in the hardener, the catalyst for 170 does not contain isocyanates. If you don't want to lay out 4-$500 dollars for supplied air, you can use the single part MP 181 primer surfacer it is not as good and can sink into sanding scratches, so you need better prep to avoid that. Do not use either 181 or 182 on bare metal, they will not adhere nearly as well as 170, particularly 182. Follow up with PPG Omni acrylic urethane (requires supplied air) or PPG Omni acrylic enamel, which doesn't need hardener. That is the general idea. There are better and more expensive paints than Omni, if you can afford the cost.
