IH Blue Paint for Cutter Bars & Knife Guards/Fingers

Does anyone know the correct Blue paint code for the guards / fingers on IH mowers? I have a GL-35-VO mower (almost identical to the 25V) and a McCormick Deering Number 7 mower.

I am in the process of painting a BN, with a mounted mower
scufflers and an 8C two wheel lift plow. The code for the blue for
shafts and rods is as follows Dupont Blue 24160. I can only figure
that IHC would use the same blue through out all their equipment.
The Wisconsin Historical sight may have a more definitive answer.
Best to you.

As I think over what you have asked about paint colour for the cutter bar and points i would like to know how long IHC used that colour scheme. Maybe mine should be the same on the mounted mower for my 1946 BN? Wm.E.J.

The only company I know of producing IH Blue for sale off the shelf is Van Sickle. Not a high grade paint, as I understand. You could use it on its own, or you could shoot some on a well-prepped flat piece and have it scanned and reproduced in something of a higher grade.

Thanks for the information. My GL-25-VO mower still has some traces of paint on the cutter bar, though not on the guards. It is possible to see that it was once blue, but it has faded. I did buy a new guard from CASE IH some years ago. They charged me $8 for it. It was painted the correct blue. I asked again this year and they now want $98 each. I have a 7ft mower, so found a wreck instead for parts.
