Well I had my first attempt at painting with epoxy primer yesterday and had some problems. I thought I had everything clean but it appears I have some fisheyes on some pieces and did not get good coverage on other pieces. I assume I can just put another coat on the ones where I had incomplete coverage. ( in the window)
But I don't know what to do about fisheyes. I painted outside, temp in 70's calm in the shade, I cleaned and cleaned some more and then cleaned some more. Never touched bare metal with bare hands
I was using a new gun and I am thinking maybe I did not get it clean enough before first use because the problem seems to be on the first pieces I painted.
Do I let epoxy fully cure and then sand out fisheyes or can I sand them now and re-prime in epoxy window?
I really thought I had everything clean but there are several spots where the paint has a crater all the way to the metal or I can see the little bit of body filler on the brake backing pads.
I assume I need to take care of this now or it will show up in finish coat.
