I went to a pull there around 1970? I think it was an M Farmall with a V-8 bolted to the original M flywheel. The hub broke, engine ran wild, and the flywheel exploded sending metal in all directions. I remember they had to take several people to the hospital. My dad felt a small piece of it but did not hurt him. After that happened, I know they started more safety rules. They had to haul the tractor away in two pieces. I was very sorry it happened , but it was quite a site to see. Any of you guys there that day?

I missed it by one year as I was there in 1969.I remember hearing about the accident in 1970.Steel flywheels were required after that plus other safety measures.

Say,you wouldnt have any pictures of any of the McKinnons pulling tractors?I'm hunting a picture of the Red Bone Coon Skinner 1206 IH that Barns McKinnon used to pull. Also would like to find a picture of Herb McKinnons D-21 AC called the Polecat.

Sorry, but I don't have any pictues from back then. 1206, Thanks for posting your pictures. It brings back many good memories from my Youth. I only remember the McKinnons for their D-21, but if I saw a picture I might remember their 1206. In the early days the 1206 and the D-21 put on great shows. Again thanks.
