im gonna be shaving the head on my wd i was wondering what was the most i can take off without having to worry about blowing headgaskets all the time and even worse craking a head. I have wd stock flat top pistons.

You won`t gain anything by milling the deck on your head. The WD`s are a flat head, they don`t have combustion chambers.The only way to gain any is to change the stroke on the connecting rods.

Please get your own facts straight before calling other people names. Robbie did not say it was a flathead engine. He meant that the head surface is flat with no combustion chamber.

He meant the head surface is flat like a diesil, no combustion chamber in the head, it is like a wedge engine, compression chamber is made in the piston height.
