If it is infact a 6-2 in a 1945 A, someone has done some major surgery to get it there. Bolt holes have to be moved and the frame notched to make it fit. Being the wrong block for that tractor will make it that much more obvious to someone who knows what they are looking for in addition to what has already been stated.

You could put a Heisler head on it which will up the compression quite a bit and help with airflow. Unless you really know what you are looking for, no one will know its there.

You could be as honest as the rest of the stock tractors and have oversize sleeves brazed into the factory block. Then the standard port/valve bowl cleanup, five angle valve job, port /manifold matching, dry air filter conversion and a mild cam will make a difference.

Jake, You might as well put some stroke with the power block because the block alone puts you with stroker tractors. If you grind the markings off, no petcock holes on side or bottom gives it away as a power block. That 1/2" or so bigger bore helps but more stroke will get you there faster and the 2 together really work well.

Most pulls I go to require a stock block casting in the stock classes. Even if you grind the Power Block label off the top of the block, there's a lot of guys who can tell it's a PB with just a glance. NATPA does not allow the JD's to run a powerblock in any Div 1 or 2 classes. That puts you into div 3 where you'll need a lot more than a Powerblock to finish in the top half of any class. You'll get away with it locally until you start winning.

You can do anything you want to it including cheating as long as you don't win. If you start winning you will be banned. Even if the tractor is legal you will be called a cheater if you win very often.
