It really helped here in Ohio, they raised the price to $3.29 today.

While I have a lot of sympathy for no gas purchase days, jd's right: it doesn't really help; our only real defenses are (1) think of any ways to reduce fuel etc consumption (remember Mickey Mouse's fingers) (2) let our Sens and Reps (esp Repubs and from oil states) know extra money spent on fuel and oil co products isn't being spent on equipment, clothes, dinners, movies, and could easily lead to layoffs in those industries, which won't help come election time, and so on. As to gas prices in Europe; that's largely been, at least in former years, high taxation, intended (successfully, for years) to hold down auto ownership, to avoid gridlock in cities not built for auto traffic.

Dont kill the messenger here guys and gals,I did not make this thing up or what not. I just thought I let people know something that I heard. weather it works or most likely not, I thought that it was interesting that there was such a large effort going on. Its true that there are alot of these boycotts etc... but there is a station in my town that will be closed tommrow, that has never happened. just thought I throw that out there.

Thank you.

Andrew

Another fellow falling for the same old email junk running around. I am going to burn the same amount of fuel this month no matter what day I buy it on. Like was mentioned, don't use gas tomorrow and then don't make up for it later with extra driving if you want to make a difference. Afraid it will take more than one day to hurt 'em though. As long as gas is twice as much in Europe as it is here they are gonna keep bumping it up.

That's funny. Aren't you just going to buy it on the 14th or the 16th? Last I checked it still adds up to the same amount at the end of the week. You wanna make a difference, don't USE any gas on the 15th.

We can't get along without the gas but we can get along the stuff they sell in their stores. I think we would be better off to avoid buying their junk.

Yeah, and screw over some of the small business owners. Thats smart! Now, if the ragheads own it, I"ll boycott it,, but over political reasons...anyway, but hurting locallly owned operations like the BP station here in my town, is just ignorant. Have you ever seen a gas station that gives a discount on gas to their employees? I never have..so why take it out on individuals who have nothing to do with it..?
