Can anybody identify this engine? http://home.tallships.ca/mspencer/shop/connie/connnie.html

(Looks like the ytmag interface line-wrapped the URL. You may have to paste it together.)

Previous owner said it was a Continental but no one can find a matching Connie model. Another informant said it's a Waukesha. Anyone recognize it or have a listing of a Waukesha that matches the specs? (Deatils on the web page.)

Thanks,
- Mike

Looks like JS is right (as usual): I've got a listing for an M600 Cont dated 1939 (but no b/s), and since it doesn't show in my 36-49 Motor probably (and from the looks of it's mounting) an industrial or power unit.
Another point: remember Cont for awhile used different numbers for the same engine for "automotive", ind't'l and power units (truck eng B6371 was ind't'l B371 and power unit PB371)...
BUT while there are other M engines (M60, M330, M6253 etc), I have no listing for an M6000...but these parts catalogs are notoriously incomplete.

Are you sure it isn't a mopar ( industrial)? Front cover and head design looks like it. Well just a guess

M600 Is the Continental identification number, There were several different models of M series engines. The could be all made from that block.

M600 Could be a contintial number for a M330 engine. They have 4 inch pistons. However i have not seen one so this is a guess. The head is rather plain for a contintial, but the hole for the distributor is in the right place.
