Well, I figured I would gamble some on one of these engines. I used a 32 to 1 mix with some late model 2 cycle oil. Ran just great. Then I changed the mix to 40 to 1 and it still ran great with a whole lot less smoke. Maybe I was lucky?? Each time I ran it for about it an hour so I'm sure it got up to operating temp. Thoughts??

Been running mine with Stihl chainsaw oil, mixed per instrucions on the bottle. I figure the new oils are much better than what was available when the engines were new. Engines seem to run fine, and don't put out a lot of smoke.

Glad to hear that. I been thinking the same thing but some folks have been telling me that it had to be the 16 to 1 mix or it would hurt the engine. I don't know that I will go to 50 to 1 like on my Husky.
