Drawbar Hole Size Question ?

Question here on what the original size of the drawbar rear hole should be on my tractor? Actually, it is a MH 20 (1946) but was there any "standard" used for those sized tractors (say between 2500 - 4000 pounds). most of those drawbars seemed to be 1" thick by 2" wide. What should the hole size be? I am making up a brandnew drawbar and the old one is so messed up with cuts and welds and bends a guy can't tell anything for sure.

don't waste time with the odd size of 7/8 go 1inch and use a wider or thicker drawbar .It's pricey but they make a fatige proof steel that works good or a higher carbon steel to not bend as easily

on CC/RC Cases I cut out the hole and insert 1" id pipe then weld it in and grind it down, makes a nice round hole.

If I was going to drill a 7/8" hole, I would go a bit wider with the bar than 2"..... .maybe 2.25 or 2.50".... Don

3 pt. draw bars have 3/4 inch holes. Check what size holes are in most pull type implements. If the hole is bigger it will allow more sizes of pins to be used. It isn't real critical so maybe a 1 inch hole would be better. 3/4 inch pins can bend and wear quite a bit under heavier pull. Just a suggestion. Dave

I would agree that a 7/8" hole should be drilled in your drawbar.

I agree. A 7/8" hole for a 3/4" pin to allow for tongue twist and rise and fall of the implement with respect to the tractor.

Can't answer that question, but I would drill a 7/8" hole in it.
