hey guys, i have a 1950 john deere b and im putting a straight pipe on it. i am going to make the straight pipe out of 3 inch exhaust pipe. i cut it 2 foot long and was looking at how it would fit but it hits the steering shaft. i was thing about gettin g a piece of 1 inch round stock and hitting it with a hammer aginst the pipe to make it indented to fit the steering shaft. do you think this would work or should i just buy a stock muffler? any input will be very much appreciated.

thanks again, jonathan s

I agree with RayP, you need a muffler, especially if you are going to use the tractor much.

Lots of aftermarket parts places already have those made up in double wall chrome or for a nice stainless one look for Steve Crum on the JD board or at johnnypopper.com
