I need a set of bale forks for the loader I've been yacking about on this forum today. I want the type that pin to the loader versus the type that clamp to the bucket. A few years ago, dad had a bale fork on the front of an IH 2250 loader that was made by I believe "Double L". I really liked these forks because the forks were positioned towards the bottom of the bracket and were beefy, unlike the bale spears I've seen around recently. They were great in my perspective because you could use them for other things like fence posts, brush, poles etc, like you can the 3 point bale forks. Im my search, I'm finding alot of bale spears but not forks. Any ideas? What do you guys use?
Thanks

I have two 3point forks made by a local shop. I modified each by adding an additional 2x4 tube on each side, adding brackets drilled for pins that match the JD 148 loader with quik-tach. Let's me use them on the loader or 3ph, or both at once.

A bale carrier (like a fork-lift, goes under the bale rather than into it) looks neat, but it is pretty dangerous. If you lift high & tilt the bucket, the bale can roll backwards down the loader arms & make a real mess of the driver.

As well, hard to pull the forks out from under the bale when stacking, or loading on a truck.

I wouldn't go with one that mounts to the bucket. They put the bale too far out front. Worksaver makes a good line of bale handling equipment. I have a Worksaver Balehand on my loader. The website is worksaver.com. They make 360 different tools and attachments,so they are likely to have what you want.

$375.99 not bad for what you get and will handle up to 3000lbs. Two forks at bottom of lower rail.
