Switched both 140's from generator / points, to alternator (3 wire) / electronic ignition. Also put a solenoid , 4 pos key switch, and high power coil on both. One of the 4 position (ACC Off IGN ST)key switches I bought was defective. In the 3rd position (IGN) it put 12V to the solenoid in addition to the coil. I was confused at first because I was checking continuity with the battery disconnected instead of voltage with it connected. Also replaced some old wiring and used solder and heat shrink tubing at the connections. The high voltage coil allowed me to open the points (went to .038" from .023"). I'm impressed, everything works great. The wiring diagrams, instructions, and pictures I found on this site made this upgrade possible.
