: Hi, hope you can help me with this one. My 1940 AC,model B timing appears to be advanced a bit too far. She frequently backfires through the carburator. She's an armstrong start, so whenever I crank her over I have to check that I don't have any new fractures. I recently ordered a copy of the AC service manual but the pages describing the magneto have been left out for some reason. : So, my question is this: how do I retard the ignition timing a bit, so she'll save me some cranking and some wrists. : Also, where can I find info or a diagram of the Fairbanks Morse magnetos? : Thanks, : Dave
